Monday 30 June at 2:30pm We would like to make you aware of some flaring which is expected to take place over the next couple of days. The flaring occurs as part of the process to bring units back on-line. Flaring is the controlled burning of refinery gases (at the flare structure) from plant safety and vent systems. The gases are mixed with steam and the steam is added to improve combustion and reduce smoke generation. Flaring can also be noisy, and we will endeavour to minimise it at all times.
