Update on Stanlow Operations – Friday - 08 August 2025
Dear Community Members,
Earlier this week, we shared that several units at Stanlow were being brought back online as part of our ongoing operations.
This process is progressing to plan and is expected to be finished over the weekend.
As part of the restart, you may have noticed flaring activity on site. Flaring is a carefully managed safety measure used to burn off excess gases when bringing units back online.
It allows excess gases to be safely burned off at the flare stack. To help reduce visible smoke and support cleaner combustion, steam is added — which can sometimes result in increased noise.
We understand that this can be disruptive, and we want to reassure you that our teams are working hard to minimise any impact on the surrounding community.
We remain committed to carrying out this essential work safely, responsibly, and with consideration for our neighbours.
Thank you for your continued patience and support.
Kind regards, Essar Energy Transition Team
