We can confirm that we no longer expect there to be strong odours from the single petrol tank that we have been managing for the last couple of weeks.
This is in line with our plan and we expect the issue will be resolved by the weekend.
Our air quality monitoring, which is conducted on-site and off-site, indicates that the odours have reduced. We will continue with this monitoring activity and, as you know, Cheshire West and Cheshire council has a number of permanent air monitoring stations in place across their area, including in Elton and Thornton-le-Moors.
We continue to work with Cheshire West and Chester council and with the relevant regulatory authorities – the Environment Agency and the Health and Safety Executive.
We apologise for the impact of the odours and we’ll provide another update when we have further information.
