We are dedicated to reducing our carbon emissions by 95% this decade, transforming our operations to become the world's first low-carbon process refinery. Over the next five years, we plan to invest $1.2 billion to decarbonise our production processes, setting a global benchmark for low emission refineries and showcasing the pathway to decarbonise high-emitting industries.
Our investment pipeline aligns with the UK Government’s Ten Point Plan for a Green Industrial Revolution and the British Energy Security Strategy. As a key player in HyNet, the UK’s leading industrial decarbonisation cluster, we are committed to delivering a 95% reduction in emissions through three phases:
Implementing high-impact projects to achieve best-in-class process energy efficiency.
Investing in carbon capture technology for our full residue catalytic cracker units.
Manufacturing hydrogen via EET Hydrogen and using it in our production processes to lower emissions.
