We recognise the responsibility we have to the people who work at Stanlow and the areas surrounding the refinery. It is important we make a positive contribution by continuously improving our environmental performance.
We are committed to sustainable refinery processes and conduct our operations within responsible environmental standards. We have a responsibility to limit the impact on the environment by mitigating risks, minimising pollution, reducing our environmental footprint and optimising natural resource consumption. This is reflected in our broad commitment across a wide range of health, safety and environmental initiatives and is incorporated into all our business decisions.
That commitment is demonstrated by planning and carrying out operations through environmentally responsible processes, techniques and practices.
We continuously recognise and assess environmental risks through risk and impact assessments and regular audits which determine the content of a comprehensive environmental management plan.
A high priority is given to minimising the impact of operations on the environment, with the overall goal of preventing pollution through a programme of continuous environmental improvement. This is achieved through our commitment to the ISO 14001 international environmental standard.
Stanlow is also committed to the guiding principles of the Chemical Industries Association Responsible Care Initiative. EET Fuels staff work systematically to reduce emissions and effluents and to strengthen the operational reliability of equipment and processes.
Our business revolves around constructing and operating very large assets carrying oil and refined products. Potentially hazardous by nature, it is critical we take all steps possible to protect our employees, contractors, guests and neighbours.
Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) issues are therefore vitally important to us, with all our HSE policies and practices designed to both recognise and mitigate the risk of hazard.
The health and safety of Stanlow’s employees, contractors, guests and neighbours are central to our business operations.
